To strengthen the relationship between Matthews Training Center and the community.
My professional journey began with the sudden decline of my grandmother’s health in 2001. My grandmother was my world. She suffered a stroke, and my immediate sense of care came into place. She lost her mobility and speech, and it was in that instance; I was terrified of what was to happen. I couldn’t stand to see her getting poor care at the nursing home she was placed in, so my family and I decided we would take her home and care for her. I wanted to make sure she had the best care, so I stepped in to take care of her around the clock with the help of my mom and sister. She would live for another two years after suffering another stroke. I remembered how thankful she was every day we were able to care for her. She always told me to do what made me happy and find my purpose in life. Performing was always my passion growing up, so I decided to study my craft to give an authentic context to it.

National Director Image I graduated with a Theatre Degree in 2007, and some Marketing & Sales skills tucked in my back pocket. Learning how the human mind works and processes certain situations always kept me wondering what I was doing in life. After a few tours and performances, I thought I should be doing more than living vicariously through other people’s lives. I wanted to make a more difference in the life of others and share my compassion and empathy for others. I enjoyed making a difference in the lives of others when they couldn’t. I decided I wanted to take my passion and make a career out of it. I became a Certified Nursing Assistance in 2009 and began a new journey in life. I worked with various healthcare companies until I joined In Home in 2011 as a Home Service Worker. I was quickly recognized as a leader within the company, even when I doubted myself.

I was promoted to Team Lead, Director, and eventually Regional Director during my tenure. My ability to multitask as a caregiver and make decisions for the company has proven a great asset. I took a short break from home care in 2020 to focus on other goals. In Home has been a big part of my growth; I’ve always loved being a part of the company’s mission, so I re-joined in 2022.
My goal is to combine my Theatre, Marketing, Sales, and Caregiving knowledge and my compassionate heart to educate caregivers and clients about the importance of Matthews Training Center. Seniors are so precious to the community that having proper care training helps give back to them while also giving them excellent quality of life.
I’ve had the opportunity to meet many unique people worldwide with such amazing stories that I can continue using in my personal and professional journey. I’ve received Employee of the Year in 2016 and a few other acknowledgments along the way that it has helped me feel I’ve made a difference in the lives of our wonderful clients and staff.
I love love, loooooove Tea with my honey.
Happiness is a direction, not a place.
